Beauty tips for holiday

Now the May Bank Holidays are over (*sob*) many of us are looking forward to our summer holidays. Whether it's 2 weeks in Ibiza, or a week in Cornwall, summer holidays are great to get away from the office and recharge our batteries. We all want to look our best on while we're away, so here's our checklist of beauty tips to ensure you feel and look your best.

1. Eat fruit

Eating well is the foundation of feeling good, so make sure you eat plenty of fruits. They will also help boost the health of your skin, so you can keep that healthy glow before, during and after your holiday!

2. Eat carrots!

More than likely you have already heard about the many benefits to your skin from eating carrots but did you know that many tanning products use the alpha – carotene from carrots to promote the coloration of the skin?
When they are eaten raw, carrots keep all their beneficial skin properties.
Find ways to add raw, organic carrots to your meals and watch the colour in your skin really blossom.

3. Drink plenty of water

Water is a wonderful thing. It helps us to control our calorie intake by keeping us full; keeps our muscles energised; and helps our skin looking good. Hydrated skin is healthy skin! Water ensures all our organs are working to their full potential, and is particularly beneficial for our digestive system. Drink 8 glasses a day for optimum hydration.

4. Move your body

There is the temptation to go mad with exercise on the run up to a holiday, but the best way to make sure you don't tire yourself out is to stick to 30 minutes of movement a day. This could be a brisk walk, weights, yoga, or HIIT.

5. Exfoliate

Use your favourite exfoliator or firm bristle brush to give some life to your skin. Exfoliation helps lift the dead skin cells off your body, and brings blood up to the surface, revealing healthy new skin.

6. Moisturise

Moisturisation is essential after exfoliation, and is another step towards keeping your skin hydrated. Use your favourite moisturiser nightly on the run up to your holiday, to ensure baby-smooth skin that is shiny and healthy.

7. Treat yourself

Give yourself a treat for all your hard work! Our favourite is a piece of yummy fruit, but if your thing is a small chocolate bar, go for it! Denying yourself of your favourite things leads to a blow-out, so keep the hard work balanced with something you enjoy.
