Moor Park Run

Last Sunday we supported hundreds fundraisers who were generous enough to donate their time and energy to take part in the Moor Park Run.

The annual Moor Park 10k Run was set up in 2002 to raise money for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre and for the past few year’s we’ve supported the efforts of the runners and volunteers.

This year, Fruit For The Office were more than happy to donate 900 bananas so that each of the runners could get a well deserved post run snack.

Why Eat a Banana After a Run?
After running (or doing any form of exercise), a banana is one of the best things to eat. The carbohydrates found in the fruit give the runners energy and refuel muscles once the run is over. Bananas are also full of potassium which is lost from the body through sweat when we run. Potassium helps the muscles to work smoothly, so eating a banana will replenish lost potassium making you less likely to experience muscle cramps.

Well done to all of the Moor Park Runners who managed to raise an incredible £30,000 for this just cause
