The boring months between Christmas and Summer seem neverending but slap bang in the middle is the Irish holiday of St Patrick's Day. It's well known for the world-famous tradition of drinking till you can stand no more but if you're still committed to staying healthy you may want to make sure that you cure your hangover with fresh drinks - in keeping with the green Irish theme of course!
Green Tea
Packed full of antioxidants and other amazing health-boosting benefits, green tea is a great alternative to your regular English Breakfast blend. Boxes of green tea bags are much cheaper than you'd imagine and available everywhere from corner shops to supermarkets ready to hydrate you before what we imagine will be a night of heavy dehydrating! Some don't enjoy the taste of green tea as it's meant to be enjoyed without both milk and sugar but so many blends are available on the market to choose from such as lemon, cranberry and peach.
Fresh Green Juices
The easiest healthy green drinks to treat yourself with this St Patrick's Day are fruit juices. From the simple green juices - apple and grape - to the more exotic such as lime, melon and kiwi, this is definitely the easiest way to stay green and healthy this weekend!
Green Fruit and Veg Smoothies
Super healthy and easy to make as long as you have a blender, green smoothies are great for tending the hangover that is sure to arrive the morning after St Patricks! Here are some recipe ideas:
