#FitFruitFriday - Healthy Hot Fruit Desserts

Friday will always feel like treat day. It's the end of the working week, the start of the weekend and time to party. On Friday the temptation to dig into to celebratory treats (chocolates, biscuits and crisps) will be higher than ever, but stay strong step back from the biscuit tin and find an alternative

Just because you're embarking on a new healthy eating regime, doesn't mean you need to miss out all together. Sweet treats always feel a little more indulgent when they're pipping hot so take a look at these warm indulgent fruit desserts that are sure to give you that Friday feeling without breaking the calorie bank.


Hot Apple dessert



For the ultimate in comforting indulgence, give this hot apple sauce recipe a try. Here's how to get started

1-2 apples, cored and sliced
1 tbspn brown sugar
1 tspn cinammon
A few almonds or walnuts







What to do
  1. Pop the apple slices, brown sugar and cinammon in the microwave for 2 minutes or until soft
  2. Stir well and leave to cool slightly - the sugar will be pretty hot at this point
  3. Sprinkle with your favourite nuts and enjoy!


Hot Berry Vanilla Crumble



This recipe will sate those cravings for something sweet and crunchy. Here's what you need

A selection of berries
A drop of vanilla essence
Tspn of honey
A handful of toasted oats or cereal






What to do
  1. Place the fruit and vanilla into a microwavable bowl and zap for 45 seconds
  2. Remove from the microwave and stir in the honey
  3. Sprinkle the fruit mix with some oats of bran cereal for a crunchy topping
  4. Eat! 


Warm Banana Pudding



This warm banana pudding is soft, spicy, sweet and indulgent


1 banana
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1 tbspn sugar
A bit of butter (optional)







What to do
  1. Slice the bananas into round coins
  2. Sprinkle the sugar an cinammon mixture over them and mix well until each peice is coated well
  3. Add a few knobs of butter on top
  4. Place in the microwave for 1 minute 30 seconds
  5. Serve warm with yoghurt
