Dragon Fruit To Treat Diabetes and Lower Cholesterol
It seems a brand new superfruit is set to hit the market. The dragon fruit, native to countries across Asia is thought to have properties which can stabilise diabetes and lower cholesterol
Doctors in Taiwan are so convinced of the healing powers of dragon fruit that they are prescribing it to patients with diabetes in an attempt to help regulate their blood sugar levels. It is also thought that the fruit has the ability to lower cholesterol making it an all round health boosting superfruit.
Whilst these claims are not yet supported by UK studies, dragon fruit, or pitaya as it is often called, is high in vitamin C, fibre and calcium. It is also hailed as a great icecream substitute for weight watchers due to its sweet creamy taste, making it a great healthy option whatever the outcome.
