Top 5 Fruity Pop Songs

Pop music has drawn on everything from fashion to current affairs for inspiration over the years. Other songs have drawn on our personal favourite pop muse – fruit! Here are our top 5 pop songs with a fruity twist. See if you can get through your office fruit delivery without humming one of these.

Holler Back - Gwen Stefani
Thanks to Gwen we'll never struggle to remember the spelling for that long curved yellow fruit. All together now B.A.N.A.N.A.S

Coconut - Harry Nilsson
This catchy tune gets double points for including two fruits - limes and coconuts

Heard It Through The Grapevine – Marvin Gaye
This motown classic almost never made it to our stereos. The original version was almost scrapped after two unsuccessful recordings from other artists. Then Marvin Gaye came to rescue, teaching us all exactly where grapes are grown.

Banana Pancakes – Jack Johnson
This mouthwatering offering from Jack Johnson celebrates tasty banana pancakes

Strawberry Fields Forever - The Beatles
This 1967 Beatles song was written John Lennon, inspired by the Salvation Army's Children's Home in Liverpool called, Strawberry Field.

Can you think of anymore?
