Women V Cancer Ride the Night 2014

Riding your bike around London - trying not to be nudged off the road by overzealous cab drivers and avoiding seemingly kamikaze commuters - can seem a particularly daunting task, especially at night!

But charity event Women V Cancer Ride the Night takes you on a scenic, moonlit journey through the capital's streets on a circular 100km ride passing by London's top tourist attractions whilst every pedal you push helps to raise money to help fight breast, cervical and ovarian cancers.

Fruit for the Office sprung into action to help this worthy cause and - because we were all too chicken to ride a bike that isn't stationary and attached to a gym floor! - we donated boxes upon boxes of bananas to the exhausted but severely toned thigh-ed women who pushed their pedal to the gravel.

We hope all the ladies that took part on the 31st May 2014 are fully recovered now and we also hope that cyclists - new and old - will be applying for next year's Women V Cancer Ride the Night at this link!

Be sure to tweet us @office_fruit or leave a comment below if you were at Ride the Night and you may be featured on a future blog or tweet!

#EasterFruitFriday - UNICEF @ London Marathon 2014

The capital city of England is none other than the home of Fruit for the Office, your London office fruit supplier...

Oh, it's also home to the London Marathon!

This year, Fruit For the Office were given the incredible opportunity to support UNICEF by donating boxes upon boxes of our famous office fruit (after it went on a strict training regimen to be up to scratch for the marathon, of course)

Shown live on BBC last weekend, all of us were glued to the TV to watch the London Marathon just to see Mo Farah work his hardest and run his fastest - all for Great Britain.

But, between cheering Mo Farah on from the comfort of Fruit for the Office HQ, we were keeping a keen eye out for those running the gruelling 26 mile course - in fetching blue vests, might we add - all to raise money for UNICEF.

Not only were there some amazing UNICEF-supporting humans at the London Marathon (including UNICEF staff member, Claire) - there was an incredibly upbeat and UNICEF-loving bird: Mr Stork!

(He was also surprisingly not worn out or sweaty... Or blinking, for that matter!)

Fruit for the Office couldn't be happier to have donated our office fruit to a charity as worthy as UNICEF and we can't wait to provide running fuel on their behalf again!

If you were running the London Marathon on behalf of UNICEF, check your goody bag and you'll find a 50% off voucher from Fruit For the Office - lucky you!

Well done to all those who ran the London Marathon and if you're running on behalf of UNICEF at another event this year, you might be enjoying our delicious bananas again!

#EasterFruitFriday - UNICEF @ Brighton Marathon 2014

Set in the equally picturesque and alternative beach town of Brighton, the pavements were pounded by the worn-out and blistered but proud feet of Brighton Marathon 2014 runners.

For 2014, Fruit For the Office were given the amazing opportunity to support UNICEF and all those who run miles and miles, giving it their all, to run marathons on behalf of UNICEF.

Fruit for the Office donated huge boxes of our favourite, energy replenishing fruits to UNICEF and their marathon runners at Brighton Marathon - which, we assume after 26.2 miles, were scoffed down pretty sharpish!

Our bananas are famous (and also very photogenic!)

At Brighton Marathon, UNICEF set up a right royal spread of delicious banana donations and Fruit for the Office couldn't be happier to have donated our office fruit to such a worthwhile charity.

If you were running at Brighton Marathon on behalf of UNICEF, check your goody bags and you'll find a 50% off voucher code from Fruit For the Office - lucky you!

Well done to all those who ran and if you're running on behalf of UNICEF at another marathon this year, you might be chomping down on a bunch of our delicious bananas again!

#FeelGoodFruitFriday - UNICEF @ Bath & Reading Half Marathon 2014

With thousands of runner jetting off from the starting line to race over a 13.1 mile course, both the Reading and Bath half marathons are frequented by professionals and amateurs alike.

This year, Fruit For the Office were given the incredible opportunity to support UNICEF and all those who exhaust themselves and push themselves to the very limit to run the half marathon on behalf of UNICEF.

We donated boxes of our favourite - and energy filled - bananas to UNICEF and their runners at both Bath and Reading to help them re-energise after an intense race.

BANANAS!

At both Reading and Bath, our UNICEF banana donations were well received by exhausted and hungry runners, and we're overjoyed to donate to such a worthwhile charity.

If you were running at either of the half marathons on behalf of UNICEF, check your goody bags and you'll find a 50% off voucher from Fruit For the Office - lucky you!

Well done to all those who ran and if you're running on behalf of UNICEF at another marathon this year, you may just get to sample our lovely banana bunches as well...

#FashionableFruitFriday - Fashion Forecast: Spring Summer SS14 Tropical Fruit Trend

Liora Lassalle - Soft Fruit,
Hard Lines at Wowcracy

London Fashion Week may have just ended but let's not get ahead of ourselves with the temptation of the gorgeous Autumn/Winter collections showcased - even though the doom and gloom of February had me wishing for one of the many stunning coats that went down the runway.

The Spring/Summer London Fashion Week last September may just be a distant memory for many of us but now is the time to get buying and wearing the trends we fawned over almost six months ago.

Liora Lassalle - Soft Fruit,
Hard Lines at Wowcracy
As much as I'd love to take you through every trend you'll see this Spring and Summer, as an office fruit supplier we had just one trend in our mind, heart and stomach - fruit.

Tropical fruit is a huge mainstay for this season and works well in conjunction with typical SS trends of neon, florals and pastels.

Designers such as Liora Lassalle and Clements Ribeiro were practically announcing their tropical fruit influences to revellers of SS14 London Fashion Week in September and now that the high street has caught up and started to bring in their range of next season goodies it's clear that their exotic fruit trend has caught on.

Tweet us @office_fruit and let us know if you'll be looking triumphant in tropical or safeguarding the SS staples of neon, pastel or floral. Also, give us a shout in the comments if you'd like to see more fashion forecasts from Fruit for the Office!
