British Pie Week - Top 5 Fruit Pies

British Pie Week is here! But before you start dreaming of chicken pie, steak and kidney fillings and savoury pastry let’s spare a thought for the humble fruit pie. The fruit pie has been neglected over the years, being passed up for more fanciful desert options like chocolate torts and soufflés.

To turn some attention to the traditional tasty desert we've come up with a list of the top 5 fruit pies

Apple Pie
The king of the fruit pies, a cinnamon filled warm apple pie with a dollop of ice-cream is the perfect desert all year round.

Cherry Pie
A sweet cherry pie is traditionally made with a golden lattice pastry topping

Lemon Meringue Pie
An unconventional offering in the pie stakes but delicious none the less

Banoffee Pie
A sweet and sticky pastry-less option - also a great way to feed fruit to unsuspecting children (or fussy adults!)

Plum Pie
The perfect plum pie should be deliciously tart with a thin crisp crust

If you'll be indulging in pies this week, be sure you add some cream to your office fruit delivery. You can't have pie without cream! What’s your choice for British Pie Week?
