Delicious Baked Pears

This super delicious and simple recipe is so easy, and yet people will think you've made a lot of effort! If you have some leftover pears, this recipe is perfect.

Total: 35 mins
Makes: 8 portions

What do I need?


  • 4 ripe pears (whichever are your favourite!)
  • 3 tablespoons butter (or coconut oil)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • Chopped pecans (optional)

How do I make it?


  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C
  2. Peel the pears and cut them in half length-wise. Scoop out the core and seeds.
  3. In an oven-proof skillet, melt the butter
  4. Place the pears in the skillet, cut side down, and cook until they start to brown, which should take about 2-3 minutes
  5. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15 minutes. Flip the pears to cut side up and continue to bake for another 10 minutes
  6. Remove the pears from the oven and transfer them to a platter
  7. Put the skillet back on the stove over a low heat, and whisk in the maple syrup with the butter and juices in the skillet
  8. Spoon the maple syrup sauce over the pears, and sprinkle with chopped pecans if desire
  9. Enjoy!
