Scarily Tasty Halloween Snack Ideas

With Halloween on Monday, and trick-or-treaters on the way, you might want a fun alternative to buying sweets to hand out at the door. We've rounded up a selection of easy-to-make treats, which will leave everyone wanting more!

Mini doughnut spiders

What you need - large pretzel twists; mini doughnuts; M&M's; a little frosting or chocolate

How to make - cut the two curved sides of a pretzel. Push 8 pretzel curves into the top of the mini doughnut (carefully!) to create legs. Use the melted chocolate/frosting to stick two M&M's on for eyes.

Frozen Boo-nana Chocolate Pops

What you need - 1 medium banana; 1 cup white chocolate; 8 mini chocolate chops for eyes; 4 popsicle sticks

How to make - cut bananas in half lengthwise, then in half to make four quarters. Insert popsicle sticks into bananas, and freeze bananas on a wax paper lined biscuit tray.
When the bananas are frozen, fill a mug with chocolate. Melt chocolate in the microwave 30 seconds at a time, until the chocolate is melted and soft. Keep stirring.
Dip the bananas one at a time into the chocolate, scraping off any excess chocolate. Place the banana onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Quickly add the chocolate chips as eyes, before the chocolate hardens.

Silly apple bites

What you need - 2 green apples, quartered; peanut butter (sunflower butter can be used in case of allergies); 32 sunflower seeds; 2-3 strawberries, sliced; googly eyes (optional)

How to make - cut the middle of each quarter to make a mouth; fill each gap with a filling of sunflower butter/peanut butter; place 4 sunflower seeds on top of the mouth for teeth; place 1 sliced strawberry inside the mouth to make the tongue; use the peanut butter to "glue" the eyes on if you are including them.
